Venice’s Peacock, Carpenter Earn State Awards

Venice – When you win championships, individual awards seem to follow. The Venice Indians have had awards rolling in since winnin their 7A State Title.
Head Coach John Peacock was named as the overall Coach of the Year in the State of Florida. He is the first coach to win the overall award since—–yes, his predecessor, Nick Coleman.
His quarterback, Bryce Carpenter, was named Mr. Football which means he was named the best player in the state. The first player in the area to win it since Adrian McPherson in 2000. Both Peacock and Carpenter had already won the awards for State 7A.
