Bradenton man found dead

BRADENTON – Manatee County Sheriffs Office deputies say they found a dead man lying in the doorway to his residence.
“We had a neighbor who was on his way to work, goes by the victim’s resident and sees the front door open. So he actually takes a closer look and actually sees the victim lying in the door way and 9-1-1 was immediately called. We respond and we confirm that the victim is deceased and it is quite apparent to us that it is a homicide,” said Dave Bristow, spokesman of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The man found in the 2100 block of 45 St. Ct. E. in Bradenton is 62 year old Robert McCarthy.
Officials say McCarthy lived alone.
So how did this happen?
“We believe he was involved in some things he didn’t need to be involved in and we’re thinking right now, that’s what led to his death. We’re not 100 percent sure, but it’s certainly looking that way,” said Bristow.
SNN has not been told the exact cause of death.
The Manatee County Sheriffs Office is still investigating.
“We’re interviewing anyone who may have known the victim. We’re trying to get a timeline on when exactly this occurred and we’re thinking it was anywhere from say 10 o’clock last night to 3 o’clock this morning,” said Bristow.
